Internship in Slovak University of Agriculture in the frameworks of scientific and educational program ERANET-MUNDUS
I've always wanted to try what it means to study abroad? To consult about different grants and internships I came to the Department of International Relations of the University. A member of the department, Anna Kanukhina, offered to me some potential variants. I chose one of them and applied for a grant under the program of Russian-European cooperation in education ERANET-MUNDUS. In the Department of International Relations RSHU I was helped to complete application: receive answer to all my questions, help in issuance of necessary documents and correctly filling the application. For me, as a novice in these deals, assistance was absolutely necessary, and I am very grateful for their support. After submission of the application and two long months of waiting, I finally got to know that I won the scholarship to study at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. After this good news, I should only select subjects for the study grant and wait for the trip. I chose interested for me subject in the field of "Soil Ecology". During one semester I learnt a lot about the impact of human activities on soil, organic farming, plant diseases and pests, and even genomics - the section of genetics. In the courses of the Slovak language learned basic words and phrases for everyday communication with local people. All lessons were in English, so I could also improve language skills and knowledge and also learnt a lot of new scientific terms. Also, during practice, I was studying features of urban soils and visited an organic farm, where are grown fruit trees and breeding animals in accordance with the rules of production of organic products. And, of course, I met friends from all over the world and had some time to travel around Europe! |
